Before anyone starts in with the “well if you don’t like it, don’t look at it” I’m going to cut you off with a stfu now. I have just as much right to dislike what I think is disgusting as you do to post it all over the fucking internet. Here’s a fun tip: if you don’t want people to criticize you on your sexual fantasies, don’t post them all over tumblr. which is why there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with being a pedophile either (or ephebophile, as attraction to 13 year olds would be more accurately categorized)

being attracted to children or minors is not inherently wrong. actually sexually molesting children is wrong. having fantasies that involve children or minors or consuming pornography of fictional children is not wrong. supporting pornography that necessitates the harm and exploitation of real life children is wrong. pedophilia that is not acted upon may be an emotionally stressful and psychologically damaging paraphilia (not least of all because of the ubiquitous societal antipathy people who have any sexual thoughts about underaged persons face), but there is no actual moral transgression involved in the basic attraction to minors. it is a thought crime.

the hysterical stigmatization of pedophilia is really not that helpful. shaming pedophiles or people who have kinks that involve children or minors is not going to make their attractions go away. at best, it will incentivize them to hide them, and deter them from making any attempts to actually get the help they may need to not act on their desires.

if you actually gave a shit about protecting children it seems to me like it would be more productive to facilitate a society where pedophiles are able to get the support (and if necessary, medication and/or castration) they require to live lives that don’t involve hurting children. pedophiles will always exist no matter what anyone thinks of them, because you don’t elect to be a pedophile. you don’t wake up one day and think, “hey, why don’t i start having sexual attractions to a group of people that is utterly unrealizable without incurring great psychological harm to my partner and incredibly punitive legal penalties? being completely unable to have any sort of healthy mutually satisfying relationship sure sounds like a lot of fun, and i can’t wait until i can count myself a member of the most universally abhorred groups in all of humanity!”

attraction to children or minors can be an accessory kink or an actual orientation, but in either case, it isn’t something anyone chooses to like or be, and contrary to popular belief, hating something hard enough does not actually make it go away.

fictional pornography of fictional children does not involve the harm or exploitation of anybody. it does not “create” pedophiles. it provides a completely victimless outlet for what would otherwise be an extremely harmful desire — would you rather kiddie fuckers be jacking off to loli manga some other 35 year old man drew or would you rather they be out in the playgrounds touching real actual kids???? be realistic.
